  1. the main entrance with the red carpet and put the the velvet ropes on the sides with a lot of people with their cameras flashing as the guests arrive..  kinda like the paparazzi...

use strobe lights as part of the decorations to give the illusion of cameras flashing all over...

    movie posters all over....

food can be a theme like the Oscars.. kinda like wolfman puck does..   maybe a one color theme for the food..  maybe make shapes with the food or something like a decoration in the food that makes everything come together..

activities could be a glamor shot contest...  have some wigs, and accessories handy and a spot with a backdrop ready and the best glamor look wins... and have a prize ready for the winner..

    good luck..!!!

  2. red carbet obviously

    star shaped cookies

    lots of confetti

put a mini strobe light by the front door and when someone knocks turn off the lights and see how they react even say 'say cheese' then actually take a pic

    order a make up artist

  3. Have camera's and confetti stars on the tables, or pick a few people to be paparazzi for the night. Old movie star posters.

  4. going "green" for one day. and having a green carpet instead of a red one

  5. There's lots you can do!

Have an actual red carpet or red fabric for your friends to enter on, and if you have solar lights or stringed Christmas lights, (clear) ones, line the carpet on each side of it with them.  Then take pictures of your friends entering on the red carpet.

Then get a piece of either black foamboard, which you can get at any crafts store or plywood and paint it black.  In silver paint, paint your name and birthday and then again in clear, stringed, Christmas lights, go around the sign with the lights and hang the sign and plug in the lights, your name with be up in lights just like the movie marquees!

Go to the crafts store or the dollar store and get some feathery boas, sunglasses, hats, etc things that you and your friends would have fun with as "props".  Then at home where the party area is, hang up against a wall a white sheet.  This is a backdrop for pictures, like when the stars come off the red carpet and stop in one area to take pictures, this is the area at your party.  Then take the props you have and you and your friends can have fun posing with each other and the props.  The sheet with hide any distractions on the wall like picture frames or anything hung up and you and your friends can have fun posing in front of it using the boas and things, have fun with the props and each other!

Then at the dollar store or Blockbuster, get those cardboard popcorn buckets and some big boxes of movie candy.  At movie time everyone gets their own bucket of popcorn and pass around the candy to share.

After the movie, it's time for the "after" party.  This is where you will eat and do whatever.  Have the food that YOU want to have.  You don't have to go with the theme, there's no sense in having food at your party that you don't like just because it fits a theme.  If you like pizza, go with it!  If you like tacos, have a taco bar with all the toppings and nachos!  If you like bbq, have a cookout with hamburgers and hot dogs with toppings, etc.

Then, you can also do an ice cream bar.  Get chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry ice cream and whatever else is YOUR favorite and some toppings. Chocolate syrup, whipped cream, sprinkles, and cherries.  Let everyone make their own sundaes.  You can get the tall plastic sundae glasses at the dollar store or get the waffle cone bowls at the grocery store.

You can also go to the crafts store and get some blank frames, the ones you decorate with paint and glitter etc. and go to the scrapbooking section and get some movie nad Hollywood stickers.  You can get a frame for each person and at the after party have each person decorate a frame to take home and put their favorite picture from the party in.  You can give away disposable cameras at the beginning of the party, or just tell your friends to bring their cameras, or just take pictures that night and give people copies from when you were all posing in front of the backdrop!

You can also decide on what movie by again, what YOU like! What movie have you been wanting to see?  What movie is your favorite that you can watch over and over?  What movies do your friends love?  Choose some on your own and ask your friends too.

You can also tell your friends to bring some blankets and pillows (if they're sleeping over) so when you're watching the movie they can lounge out during the movie and sprawl and be comfy.  You can also continue the movies into the night after the "after" party.

For decorations, go with your favorite colors.  If there's a theme in the movies that you choose, you can go with that, like if you pick a movie that has a few sequels to it, and there's a theme to them, go with that color scheme or, you can go with black and gold.

You can do clusters of black and gold balloons around the party area and where the movies are being shown.  You can also do it by the red carpet, when people are just getting off the red carpet.  You can also do a sign in book for your friends to sign when they get there with their Birthday wishes.

For other decorations you can hang some movie posters, get some of the awards that they sell and put them around, you can even do games and give the awards out.  You can do who had the best pose for pictures, ,best dressed, etc. and give our awards.  You can buy a bunch of them and have them lined up on a table and do games and things and hand them out.

You can also do movie trivia, and ask questions about the movies that you're watching or about everyone's favorite stars and whoever gets the most right wins.

You can do a game of "who am I"? and give some facts about a star like what show or movie or band they were in, what quotes they may have been known for, etc and have people guess who they are, and whoever gets the most right wins.

I'm sure you can find trivial pursuit in a movie edition.  I would check toys r' us or amazon.com and see what you can find in movie trivia, etc, even if it's just cards or whatever, you can do trivia games and whoever has the most right, wins an award etc.

I hope some of these ideas help and that you have a great party and a very Happy Birthday!
