  1. you need 10gal per inch of turtle. That would be a very large tank or pond for a fully grown turtle. You can also use anything that holds water, like a stock tank which is way cheaper.

    You also need a filter

    and a water heater

they need to bask, so you need a uv light and a heat lamp which are supposed to simulate sunlight.

if these bulbs are not available in your country, make sure your turtle gets basking time through real sunlight (direct sunlight make sure it is not through glass) outdoors.

    check out this website:

    go to "lighting and basking"

  2. U need to get some bulbs. the UVA/UVB light is how they keep their shell hard, and get the vitamin D that they would get from the sun if they were in the wild. The basking light is how they keep warm and it is also what keeps their shell strong and healthy. If u cant get a bulb... If theres absolutely no way u can get some then get a kids wading pool, and put them in their during the day, ONLY in the summer though... but this will be ok until u can get what the turtle needs. But be aware that u will have to wake up very early so that the turtle gets their entire 10 to 12 hours in the sun. In the winter time u will have to find another alternative. Hope i helped.

  3. No....you need a big aquarium, a heater for winter, UVA and UVB lamp. I would suggest buying 2 in 1...they are pretty expensive but they take up less room. Mine was about $70...and the UVB needs to be replaced every 6 months. Replacements are about $20. They need a place to dry out too.

    Good luck. Turtles are expensive

WTF???!!! Get a brain. This is to a guy below. Idiot.
