my turtles are red eared sliders. One is a female i think and one is male i think too. The female has a lighter shell then the other one. the female turtle for some reason always lays in the corner of my basket ( i keep them in there to prevent them from eating the fish) The other one is ALWAYS active always climbs and runs around. Plus my female turtle is bigger than the male. I've tried to look up answers but didnt find that much is my turtle gonna have babies someone help me please

  1. it IS a girl since it is bigger than the male

    also she probably is pregnant

and is staying in the corner of the basket to stay warm....

As the eggs get bigger, it should push out on the skin and you can often even feel the eggs in the shell. When they are really big, you can pretty much see the eggs themselves bulging out.

    hope i helped

    :)

  2. Get them in water.  RES are aquatic turtles and need adequate water.

Get them a different aquarium than the fish, preferrably 7 gallons for every inch length (minimum).  So if one turtle is 6in long the other is 4 in long then you need 7gal x 10in = 70 gal

Do not keep them in a basket, its not healthy!
