Can you narrow your question down to within a quantified region?  Or are you after the entire population of red foxes on planet Earth?

the red fox population will have its ups and downs,in Ontario we are seeing a downward trend lately we have had a large rabies outbreak in the last few years that is decimating the fox and coyote populations so it is on the down turn,were as 5 years ago you couldn't go for a walk in the neighbourhood because of running into a fox or coyote.There life cycles are very cyclical
