Red hair dye on bleached blonde hair?

I have bleached blonde hair and I wanted to dye it a redish-brown color with some highlights. Im afraid of it fading into an orange color, or something worse..and I am also afraid of stripping my hair before adding dye to it due to the danger or breakage. What should I do? I am tired of being blonde.
