Question:

Red-light camera ticket if I am turning right but make a complete stop in the middle of the crosswalk?

I was turning right and instead of stopping behind the first white line I stopped in the middle of the crosswalk where there were no people. I was looking to my left to see if I could go but I DID make a complete stop. Will I get a ticket because I saw a couple of flashes?

  1. The fact that you stopped should make it fine. Technically yeah, you should stop behind the line, then inch forward until you can see clearly and go. But no one does that, and I have done exactly what you did in front of cops several times to no effect, its also usually a rolling stop so...

You're fine, and you could fight it if they tried to ticket you. They might drop it.

But it's not like you ran the light or just zipped around the corner, so I wouldn't worry.

EDIT: How is that a thumbs down!?!? No, it wasn't the legal thing to do, but since when have they started handing tickets to people who come to complete stops?

It's the people who come rolling up and then peel away without stopping that get the tickets.

Aside from your driver's test, no one really cares if you're a few feet past the line. Especially in the absence of pedestrians.

  2. Hopefully.

You were beyond the line, costly mistake but sometimes you've got to learn.

  3. someone said red light cameras are illegal b/c there is no physical officer there to write you a ticket.

san diego had to take out all their red light cameras b/c of this bullsh!t and they were sued and lost.

all this money gets sent to puerto rico or some c**p and then it gets sent to europe to buy some idiot a new mansion. check it out it's true
