Red light with a green left arrow BY LAW means what?

My driving test is tomorrow.. and I can't find my driving handbook!! I live in Ontario.

If I approach a red light that has a left green arrow for the cars turning left and obviously the green arrow also applies to the cars opposite AND say I'm turning to the right... I stop completely ...

But BY ONTARIO LAWS... am I allowed to turn RIGHT even if there are NO opposite cars turning left (way is clear)?

Or BY LAW am I still supposed to stop even if I'm turning right because of the red light green left arrow light?

Please I would like a lot of anwers.. anybody just answer as long as it takes.. I'm sure someone out there has the Canadian driving handbook and I called friends but they're either not home or forgot and it won't tell you on the internet and I'm not allowed to ask the ministry of transportation when I get there.. so please anyone answer =(

Thanks everyone! =)

  1. I think Canada's driving system is the same as the U.S. At an intersection, there are traffic lights per lane. The left turn lane has 4 lights, the red, the yellow, the solid green and the arrow. When all lights show red except the left turn arrow, all traffic cannot move except those turning left. If you wanted to make a right turn when the left arrow is on, you have to see if any oncoming traffic turning left toward you is clear to turn safely, unless the intersection has posted signs saying "no right turn on red".And you should know what they look like.

  2. still supposed to stop and look even you are turning right because of the red light green left arrow light

  3. Yes, you must stop to turn right unless it's indicated that right turns are prohibited.
