Red line on screen. I have a 50" LG plasma tv and I am hooked up to Directv. When I turned it on

I have a 50" LG plasma tv and I am hooked up to Directv. When I turned it on today there was a large red line on the right side of the screen. No matter what channel I am on its on the screen. Any idea what caused it and do I need to replace my tv aready? Thanks
