Red mushrooms?

we moved to raleigh nc and found a red cap mushroom in the wild any clue on what kind it is?

Possibly amanita muscaria, the infamous red mushroom (actually red and white, the white is in fact the veil that can get washed off).

Contains ibotenic acid that converts to muscimol when digested. Pretty intense trip but not fatal (otherwise I would not be writing this!)
