After nursery yesterday my 3 year old daughter and 2 year old son came with me to the local shop I didn't have any change to put my son in a trolley so I carried him as I only needed a couple of things My daughter didn't want to walk as she was really tired and so she was getting upset When we got back to the car about 15 mins later she was in fits of hysterics and wouldn't stop crying so I hurried home to calm her down (we live 5 mins from the shop). On the way home she started coughing and was really chesty. When I got home she had calmed down but when I got her out of the car she had red pin prick marks around her eyes on the skin and on her eyelids. My first thought was that she had burst little blood vessels from crying so much I decided to take her our local nurse station. The nurse gave her a good look over i.e temperature, looking in her mouth ears and listening to her chest and she was fine The nurse agreed with me that it it was burst blood vessels. Is this what it could be?

  1. yes that is what the marks are blood vessels my little brother use d to get them everyday he threw a fit or was sick and vomiting

  2. She's an alien!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. oh, I had that when I was little I still have the scar.

it's really hard to explain, but I suggest don't let her out of the house for a week, I know that for a fact.

  4. yes, this happens to my 5 year old son occasionally.

  5. its busted blood vessels.  With all my pregnancies.... morning sickness...blah...you always knew when i got sick cuz of the tiny lil splattering of itty bitty dots around my eyes.  soak a wash cloth in cold water and rest it on her eyes for a bit.  it'll reduce it some.  you can also use visine to help take the redness away.  just don't let her get ahold of it!!

  6. seems to be a very typical reaction from people who have been crying...I've included a web page with about a dozen people who describe the exact same symptom after a major bout of crying....

  7. My eldest child has strawberry blond hair and fair skin.  She gets those tiny red dots from burst blood vessels too, especially if she's been vomiting.  They go away within a day or two.

  8. Is it still there? It could be a blood vessel or a heat rash from getting heated up about the situation. or a rash from rubbing! Good luck

  9. I wouldn't have a clue about the burst blood vessels, but I find when my kids cry for ages they tend to get a blotchy rash all around the eyes from being such stress heads. I haven't to be honest noticed or looked close at the eye lids, but that's usually what happens w/ my two younger ones tho my now 4 yr old has pretty much grown out of it but my 2 yr old still gets what I call "stress head" from crying heaps. I wouldn't be too worried about it. When you first said "prickly" rash I thought possible allergy, but being that she was crying and chucking one I would just say it's because of that.
