Question:

Red smear on rear-projection TV?

Ok, this has happened to me on multiple TVs over the years, and recently (today) to my current TV. Bright colors, mostly red, smear to the right. It has never done this before today, but I went from S-video cords to standard RCA cords, and then back. Now the red smears a little to the right. It isn't that noticeable on a (real) TV show, but is extremely annoying when watching South Park, with all the bright colors. Like I said, this has happened to ALL my previous TVs, and I just though it was because they were old, but comparatively, this one is new(er), <3 years. Any thoughts? Has this ever happened to anyone els?

  1. Smearing on a 3 year old TV set shouldn't be happening....it's got to be your cable or your source of signal like the cable box....

Reset BOTH by unplugging Both power cords for 5 minutes so we know it's not related to a bad software glitch....

You don't have the color control turned up past halfway do you? How about the brightness ? Set them both to half and the Contrast/picture to 3/4 or full....

And if you have the BRAND AND MODEL and whether it's DLP or LCD or CRT or PLASMA....Then I could look up more INFORMATION FOR YOU....

    But nobody does....
