Well, now Manny can be Manny on a crappy NL West team. The Red Sox got many of his best years and two World Series wins. Now he can be someone else's problem. Anyway, he's 36 now, and his production has been down in 2007 and 2008. I'm not a Red Sox fan, but that's my take on it. The Red Sox had him at the right time, and this isn't a bad time to lose him.

We were fine with  Manny being Manny until he hit the breaking point.  Now he had become a big distraction.  

This end game strategy of his was well thought out.  He made it a big issue during the Yankee series when press exposure is the highest and it happened right before the trading deadline.  Smart moves on his part.  The team had become dysfunctional in the last week, but hopefully now they will get back on track.

Red Sox fans are incredibly fickle.  Now that Manny is gone, they turned on him in a matter of hours.  It's amazing, really.  Yesterday and this morning they were saying that Boston would never trade him because they need him too badly... now they are pretending like this trade is the best thing that ever happened to them.

I kind of wish Manny had stayed there... he made them look like idiots for putting up with his obnoxious behavior year after year, and half the time he was practically playing for his opponent.

One thing is for sure - the Dodgers won't put up with his c**p.  As he becomes a more disciplined player on a new team, Boston is going to slowly realize that he played them for fools, and that they are incredibly dumb for putting up with his BS for so long.

he "mannied" himself right off the team. i can't even believe that someone wants a player with such a crappy attitude. pompus jerk. I think that the suxs will be better off without him and i hate the suxs! i mean soxs
