Question:

Red wine open for two weeks, safe to drink

I have a few people that have turned up unexpected, but have only a bottle of red opened about two weeks (at most) ago to offer. I usually keep red wines that have been opened for cooking, but would it be advisable to pour for a drink? Jacob's Creek Grenache Shiraz it is. I understand flavor will be altered, but is it safe to drink as it has been sealed with a s***w top, but at room temperature. Many thanks in advance.

  1. Probably safe to drink, but will taste horrible. Red wine, after opening very seldom last for more that 3 or 4 days.

  2. wont kill u but drinking vinegar never killed anyone ,,,,might burn and than clean u out though, but a cleansing is always good ,,,as long as u don't have plans

  3. safe yes

    taste bad

  4. Agree, it will be safe, but not very good.  If you have "a few" people over, 1/2 a bottle ain't gonna get very far.  Head to the store.
