  1. Its a smallish coastal town - so you get all the 'personal' / laid back qualities of that, but still not too far from Brisbane city. I have also heard its becoming a very popular and 'fashionable' place to live in real estate terms. I'd love to live in Redcliffe!

  2. I grew up in Redcliffe and also spent about 8 months there in 2005. It has changed a lot. Even though it's only across the bridge from Brisbane, it's still very much its own city...never tell anyone from Redcliffe that it's part of Brisbane...they're proud to be their own city. This is because Redcliffe was settled before Brisbane, in fact it was the first settlement in Qld, but abandoned a year later cos those red cliffs? Not arable soil as first guessed...but clay.

Now to today. It's nice...it has a moderately country town feel at times and the people are usually very welcoming. There is a strip of shops on the water at Redcliffe (the suburb) and also a mall at Kippa-Ring. Just out of Redcliffe there's a newer mall called Northlakes. Oh, and a shopping precinct at Margate. There's a megaplex, plenty of places to eat and drink, lots of beach (it's not the best place to swim, but it's pretty and a great place to fish), a boat harbour...a good choice of schools, it's clean...and it's usually a tiny bit cooler in summer. It's also close enough to Brisbane if you are a little peninsula crazy.

All in all, a really nice place to live if you don't mind being out of the city.

  3. yea its a pretty nice place in the bay i live just across the hornibrook highway so i ride there sometimes, its got some nice dining places, sometimes it has a reputation of being tough but iv never had anyprobs all in all i nice place to live id say

  4. Its an old town on the coast and not far from the city of Brisbane. I found it to be a nice place every time I've been there, so yes I think you will like it.
