Question:

Reddish Bugs In My Pub?

I work for a popular chain of pubs and we get plagued by these really weird looking reddish/copper bugs in the summer, that seem to cling to glasses...now they LOOK like cockroaches/stag beetles but they're long and slim and they can fly.

What could they be? And how could we get rid of them?

Pictures would be a help :)

  1. Catch one and send it to your nearest natural history museum if you want specific details. There are literally millions of species of insects on the planet and even experts have trouble with ID. Unless they have an offensive odour or create a hygiene problem I wouldn't worry about them too much, they will probably disappear shortly, and will make an interesting conversation topic for you clients.

  2. idk

try any type of cleaning c**p on them and get some bugspray asap!

  3. They could be chafers.  These are beetles that fly in summer, also called maybugs.  However, they're not exactly slim.

My best guess would probably be soldier beetles.

    Pictures would be really good.

  4. might be mayflys?

  5. What city?  Continent?
