Redirections and royal mail special delivery

I'm expecting a parcel being sent special delivery to my old address. I have a mail redirection, so will this special delivery item be redirected?

Postie here - Yes as long as the details on the Parcel match the details on the redirection form that the postie operates from.

Thing is you wont get it within the time limit and as this won't be the fault of Royal Mail (addressed incorrectly) the sender will not be able to claim their costs back.  Is their any way you can contact them and change the address.
