Former Tottenham Hotspur manager, Harry Redknapp believes that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Luka-Modric-c22857 will no longer be a Spurs player come this season, and has warned fans to prepare themselves for his exit.
The former Spurs boss was a huge admirer of the Croatian midfielder while he was in charge of the side. Modric flourished under Redknapp, and became the fulcrum of the Tottenham team. The midfielder has been linked with a move away from the club for the
past two seasons, and it looks as if he will finally get his wish now.
Redknapp is of the belief that Modric will not be a Spurs player when the new Premier League season starts on the 18th of August, despite the fact that negotiations with Real Madrid have failed to reach a conclusion.
Modric has had a number of clubs after his services. The likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain have been interested in the 26-year old, but Real Madrid have recently emerged as favourites to land the Croatian.
However, the Spanish giants have struggled to reach Tottenham’s £40 million valuation of their player.
Sources in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 understand that Madrid lodged a bid of £33 million for Modric, but the bid was rejected by Tottenham, who are not willing to let their star player go for anything under the price they’ve set.
Harry Redknapp is still very confident that the player will leave White Hart Lane this summer, and has warned Tottenham fans to brace themselves for his departure. The former manager also claimed that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy had himself promised the player
that he’ll let him leave this summer.
Speaking to the English press, Redknapp said:
"I would not be sure Luka would start the season at Tottenham.”
"The club would be happy to sell if they get the right money. The chairman (http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-c9879 Levy) said to him last year 'Give us one more season and if Real come in, I won't stand in your way'."
It is reported that Madrid had offered Spurs http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nuri-Sahin-c28251 in a part-exchange offer last week, but the deal was rejected by Tottenham, who are holding out for a cash-only deal.
