Former Tottenham Hotspur manager, Harry Redknapp has admitted that he is quite disappointed by the fact that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Beckham-c10432 was left out of the Great Britain squad for the Olympics.
It seems like Redknapp is one of the millions of football fans, who would have loved to see the Golden Boy of English football go on and show everyone just what he was capable off on the international stage.
With Stuart Pearce not selecting the veteran in his final squad list, it seems like those ambitions of watching the midfielder have now diminished.
Even though some critics have gone on to support Pearce and his decision, Redknapp doesn’t seem to be one of them.
The former manager is rather infuriated by the decision and thinks that Pearce may have made a huge mistake.
"[Pearce] has obviously picked the right team for him. We’ve all got opinions on whether Beckham should have been picked - I’m his biggest fan. I think he is a great role model, a fantastic player and a really nice guy. “
"You couldn’t meet a more down to earth fella than http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-c10409. He came to train with us while I was at Tottenham. I'd have liked to have seen him go to the Olympics, but Pearce decided he wasn't good enough."
He then went on to question the team’s ambition and drive, as he suggested that they really need to go on and give it their all if they are to stand any chance of winning the competition.
He added: "Team GB’s success will depend on how strong the other teams are. Are they having a go of it? Are they picking their best teams? Are they taking it seriously?”
Despite having his differences with Pearce, he wished him the best of luck and hoped for the team to do as well as they possibly could.
Beckham’s snub has come as a disappointment to just about everyone, but it seems like the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 captain might never represent the nation on the international stage again and the only time he would return to play in his home country, is when he plays
his testimonial.
