Former Tottenham Hotspur manager, Harry Redknapp feels that Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere can go on to become the Prilo of the England national team.
England and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 took on each other in the quarter finals of the Euro 2012 and following a hundred and twenty minutes, after which neither side managed to score a goal, the match went into a penalty shootout.
The Italians went on to come out on top following the shootout and are now set to take part in the semi finals of the competition.
Redknapp feels that England lost because they weren’t able to control the ball in the middle of the pitch and feels that the team should have kept a whole lot more possession.
At the same time, the former Spurs boss thinks that the team really failed to compensate for the loss of Wilshere, who missed out on the competition due to an injury.
When talking about the game and highlighting the importance of a player like Pirlo, who controls play and dictates all the moves for his team, Redknapp is quoted to have said: "Look at Pirlo against England — he had no pace, strength and he’s ancient. But
what a fabulous display. We must learn a lesson from this and do our utmost to produce an Pirlo of our own.”
"He’s the type of player I’m talking about who doesn't rely on strength or speed — he’s a genuine footballer.”
"It was the absence of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jordan-Henderson-c19102.”
"England struggled with that. But it is something Roy will definitely work on. He knows that it’s all about the future now and moulding the team his way rather than getting one together that is difficult to beat."
Wilshere has been missing in action for almost a year now, following an injury that he picked up in last year’s pre season game.
However, with him now finally on course to recover and make a return to football, he could go on to make his mark for both http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749.
