Tottenham Hotspur’s manager, Harry Redknapp has gone on to insist that he would be more than happy if his side finished in the fourth spot at the end of the Premier League season.
The London based club were sitting in the third spot a couple of weeks ago, but given the way they have been performing in recent weeks, there are a lot of doubts about the team’s integrity and ability to secure a Champions league spot at the end of the
season.
Tottenham are currently level on points with Newcastle United and two points behind http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429, who have a game in hand.
Redknapp has now gone on to confirm that it would be very hard for his team to finish in the third spot and considering the form Arsenal have been showing, the North London club is more than likely to secure the third spot at the end of the season.
When talking about how he plans on seeing out the rest of the season and just what his team needs to do, in order to avoid falling out of a European spot, Redknapp is quoted to have said: "It's going to be close but there are still five games to go. If Chelsea
win tonight, we're all square with all three of us [Tottenham, Newcastle and Chelsea] on equal points"
He then went on to insist that finishing in the fourth spot wasn’t going to be too embarrassing for the team, since it would ensure their participation in Champions League football for the coming season.
However, the manager believes that there is still a lot of room for anything to happen and that nothing can be said for certain until the end of the season.
"We'll settle for finishing fourth and Champions League football is the key. Finishing above Arsenal will be tough now. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 have to play Arsenal, Newcastle have to play Chelsea. Who knows?"
It is now up to Redknapp and his team to prove just what they are made of, as they look to secure a spot in the Champions League for the coming season.
Should the team fail to do so, there could be a number of changes taking place at the club over the summer break.
