Tottenham Hotspurs manager, Harry Redknapp has expressed his interest in signing Lille’s attacker, Eden Hazard for the next season.

However, Redknapp is wary of the competition he may face from the Manchester based clubs in landing the Belgian star at the White Hart Lane.
The 21 year old player, who has been playing for the French club Lille since 2007, has played 181 matches for the team and scored 41 goals for his side. During this period, he has also made 30 assists.

“Our chairman is willing to pay for an exceptional talent like Hazard. But I also know that Manchester United are looking at him and also Manchester City. It will be difficult to get him, but I like him a lot” said Redknapp.
But Redknapp urged the importance of beating the Manchester clubs in a bid to sign the forward in order to compete with the top two clubs in England at the moment. He also said that the club needs to make a habit of spending handsomely to keep up with the
increasing demands and tough competition in the English league.
“If you want to compete you have to buy top players. We’ve not paid massive transfer fees in the past because we’ve been OK.”
