Tottenham Hotspur’s manager, Harry Redknapp has gone on to insist that his side are still on track to qualify for the Champions League this coming season.
The London based club took on Aston Villa this past weekend and following a bright start, the team found themselves trailing to the Villans in the first half. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ciaran-Clark-c9247 went on to take a pop at goal from distance and following a deflection off, of William
Gallas, the ball flew into the back of the net.
Soon after, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Danny-c10193 Rose was shown a red card for a two footed tackle and as a result, Redknapp’s team looked like they would end up losing the game.
However, a very spirited display in the last half an hour saw Tottenham dominate their opponents and the team eventually went on to score an equalizer in the game.
The team had plenty of opportunities to go on and win the game, but following their offensive display in the dying stages of the game, they failed to find the back of the net again.
Following the conclusion of the game, Redknapp went on to talk about his team and their chances of qualifying for the Champions League next season.
The Spurs boss was quoted to have said: "A win today and we would have been guaranteed fourth place, but it’s all to play for still”
"One game left and you look at the permutations and it could be http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 or us – it’s just impossible to tell.”
“We have all got tough games next week, none of have an easy one, it’s going to be an interesting last game of the season, that’s for sure."
Tottenham now need to win their last game and should the team manage to do so, they would be in the driver’s seat to secure at least the fourth spot in the league table.
A slip up from Arsenal could even see the team go on and secure the third spot in the league table.
However, it is also down to Chelsea lifting the Champions League, to determine whether the fourth spot team would end up making the European competition or not.
