QPR earned promotion to English Premier League after lifting the Npower Championship title at the end of the 2010/11 season. However, the club failed to impress in the English top flight in the 2011/12 campaign, and survived relegation on the final day of
the season.
Mark Hughes was appointed the club’s new head coach at the start of the 2012/13 campaign, but the former Fulham boss failed to guide his side to achieve good results in the opening 12 games, failing to register even a single victory.
Following QPR’s abysmal showings, the club management decided to part ways with the 49-year-old tactician, and appointed the veteran English trainer to guide the White City outfit to better results in the remaining action of the season.

“I've not come here for a short-term fix. I want to build a team here and stay here for a few years. I want to keep us up this year and go from there. I've not come in to fight fires and they haven't called me in to try and keep them up and that is the end
of that. I want to build a team so they are not in this trouble again. I want to build a team spirit so we can establish ourselves as a good Premier League team, that's the key”, Redknapp was quoted as saying to reporters in a press conference.
QPR are currently sitting at the bottom of the league table, with bagging only four points from their 13 games thus far.
