Reds and Blues win Super Rugby matches – Super Rugby news
The Reds and Blues were able to carry the day on weekend as they cruised over the Bulls and Waratahs respectively.
The Queensland Reds had a wonderful day yesterday; they stunned the defending champs Bulls by 39-30 at the Suncorp Stadium. Cooper and Genia played really up to the mark to help their side for a crucial victory.
The Reds claimed sixth consecutive of the tournament and made their place on top of the tables among its other Australian home sides. While the other match of Super Rugby Round eight, was played between Blues and Waratahs. The Blues steal an easy victory
over the Waratahs by 31-17.
In the first match, the Blues outclassed the Waratahs at Eden Park in Auckland and took a lead over the opponents on the overall point’s tables. They stared of nicely and took early lead over the Waratahs.
They were provided with fair bit of chances on several times and they took full advantage of that. The Hosts Blues were on the driver’s seat after the end of first half. They were leading the game 31-7 at the interval but after that they could add any point
to the total. Waratahs had done comparatively better during the second part but they could only minimise the deficit and lost in the by31-16.
On the other hand the Queensland Reds had really sweated to secure the victory against the Bulls. The Bulls made few changes in their side and the most notably was that of Hougaard who replaced Du Preez.
The Queensland Reds have not made any change in the side and went in to the field confidently. Ashley Cooper was soon in the action for Reds with a lovely try to end up the early lead of Bulls which they took in the third minute of the play. He added another
two points to their total and made it 7-3 after eight minutes’ play. The Bulls scrum Kruger was penalised couple of times in the first part of the play for collapsing with the opponents.
Morahan the defender of the Reds shined back after the first break and had a splendid try. He accelerated the scoring momentum of the side again in the 59th minute of the play with another try.
He had a splendid day today as it was a dream for any player to score two tries in a single game. The Bulls tried to bounce back in the field on several times during the second part of the game but it was too late for them.
Reds’ Cooper poured cold water on the Bulls dangerous designs as he scored three conversions with one try and a drop goal. It was brilliant piece of play from the flanker along with Morahan. They ended up the game with 39-30 and claimed sixth victory of
the season.
