http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809’s vice-captain, Jamie Carragher feels Welshman, Craig Bellamy has a point to prove at Anfield since his last admittance in the 2006-07 season. Critics agree with the defender Carragher pointing that Bellamy’s last performance with
Reds would have set a chip on his shoulder.
Bellamy was added as a last minute addition to the Liverpool squad alongside Uruguayan international, Sebastian Coates. Carragher greeted both players in a statement while talking to the media. He also mentioned that both players would help Liverpool earn
their place back on top of English Premier League and a spot in Champions League.
The former Manchester City player, Bellamy has been a Liverpool supporter since childhood. In his last spell at Liverpool the striker/ winger scored 9 goals in 41 appearances.
In his press statement Carragher extolled Bellamy, he said:
“It's a great signing.”
He continued,
“As a kid he always said he was a Liverpool fan and I think he was quite disappointed with how it finished, with how he left. He'd have liked to have done a lot better and hopefully this gives him the chance to do that."
Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish has an eye for the welsh veteran. Dalglish believes his experience can be utilized upfront and on the left wing. Bellamy will be playing under a jersey labelled 39 this season.
Sources have revealed that Bellamy was signed as a free agent. According to rumors the ex-Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385 player has inked a 1 year contract. If that is the case then his contract will be revised at the end of the 2011-12 season.
Carragher expressed his knowledge on the issue saying, “I don't know if it's a free transfer or whatever it may be, but for the last few years at Man City he has been excellent, not just as a striker but as a wide player.

Pundits predict Bellamy will get his debut for Reds after the international break. In that case Reds first match after the interval will be against Stoke City on 10th of September.
