Redskins’ cornerback DeAngelo Hall gives up, calls for axing him from the team – NFL News
Washington Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall is so disappointed with his performance after the failure against Dallas Cowboys 27-24 that he has called for axing him from the team and said that he could be later selected in the
team if he plays well.
Following the defeat at the FedEx Field in the week 11 game of the National Football League current season on Sunday, Hall said that his game-play was substandard and that he is not worthy enough to be a member of the team.
“The way I'm playing right now, they need to go and cut me, because I'm definitely not worth what I'm getting," Hall said. "It's frustrating.”
The 28-year-old cornerback was selected in the 2004 NFL Draft by Atlanta Falcons. In March 2008, he was traded to Oakland Raiders that released him late in the same year. Hall joined Redskins in November 2008, and is playing for
the franchise since then.
This is his fourth season with Redskins and he has made start in all the games with a record of 64 tackles and one interception.
He was of the view that he could be included in the side next year and said that his current performance is below par.
“Hopefully they see something in me and bring me back next year. But the way things are going right now, I'm definitely not playing up to par."
Redskins lost to Cowboys after giving away the momentum in the fourth quarter of the game. It was their seventh defeat of the season. With three victories and an average of 312.7 yards (228.7 passing yards and 84.0 rushing yards)
per game, they are ranked at the bottom of the National Football Conference East division.
Hall was displeased with the languid performance of the Redskins’ defence and blamed it for throwing the game away to Cowboys. He maintained that the points scored by the offense were enough to get them victory, but regretted that
the defence did not perform its duty.
" We've been ... complaining all week -- over the past couple weeks -- about them (offense) putting up 10 points, nine points, 12. And they come out and put up ... 24. And we don't win the game," Hall said.
