Redskins hopeful to end losing streak as they host Cowboys in Week 11 – NFL Preview
Washington Redskins have to build a strong defensive wall on their home field to prevent ferocious Dallas Cowboys from trashing them at FedEx Field in the week 11 game of the National Football League current season.
Redskins have a current losing streak of five games and have to answer many questions as they prepare to host another game in the season. Their last week defeat at the hands of Miami Dolphins 20-9 was their sixth in the season.
They have so far managed only three wins.
The extension in the winless streak is a cause of concern for Redskins. Recently, defensive tackle also urged the team to improve the game-play warning them that failing to do so could extend the streak further.
The confusion at the Redskins’ camp is evident as they are pushed down at the bottom of the National Football Conference East division. The management has continuously experimented with new combinations, but all efforts have gone
in vain.
Both John Beck and Rex Grossman have played as starting quarterbacks. Their performances have satisfied coach Mike Shanahan who has confirmed earlier this week that Grossman is going to start against Cowboys.
“We’re just going to keep on fighting,” the coach said. “Rex is going to be our quarterback. “When you go with a veteran quarterback, it’s pretty easy - because usually that situation stays pretty much status quo. Unless there’s
an injury during the week, Rex would be the quarterback,” he added.
On the other hand, Dallas Cowboys are progressing with five victories and are placed at the second place in the NFC East division.
Adding to their good fortune is the return of Felix Jones who has recovered from injury and is ready to join DeMarco Murray, who initially served as Jones’ replacement but is expected to be a regular starter now. Not only that,
the inform Tony Romo is also set to support the two and strengthen the Cowboys line-up.
The brilliance of Murray who has recorded two touchdowns and 100 carries with 674 yards this season has made him more than just a backup.
After the Cowboys’ victory against Buffalo Bills in the week 10 game in which Murray outshined the opponents, the owner of the franchise Felix Jones also expressed a desire to see Felix Jones and DeMarco Murray playing together.
