= 12(a^2 - 1/4) (2a+1) / (2(2a+1)^2 *6)

=(a^2-1/4)/(2a+1)

=(a-1/2)(a+1/2)/(2*(a+1/2))

=1/2 * (a-1/2)

=1/2 a - 1/4
