Reducing Humidity without using silica gel in guitar case?

So im currently living in a REALLY humid place and i brought my guitar back. and i cant find Silica gel soo is there another way without using a de-humidifier to make sure the RH is around 45% instead of 55%

  1. Keep some salt in a small container and see the result!


  2. Maybe it is a silly answer (I don't know anything about guitars) but ... warm it up!

    At the average temperature of 15 degrees Celsius, a cubic meter of air can only contain 14 grams of water. The relative humidity is then 100%. If you keep the same ambient air but increase the temperature, the air can contain more water and the relative humidity goes down.

    Warming up the air around the guitar will make its RH lower. But then ... I don't know how you can do that without damaging the guitar.

    Otherwise, people who have boats or camping vans wintering outside often use salt or a light bulb to keep moisture away.

    A hanging bag of salt and a bucket under is an old trick that has been used for maybe centuries. A 60 watts light bulb is enough energy to move the air and make the inside of the boat or van warmer than the outside.

  4. You can buy a guitar humidifier/dehumidifier.  DO NOT warm it up!  Heat will harm it.
