Question:

Redundantly Slow Windows Updates?

One of my friends told me that a Windows computer with no updates connected to the Internet is exploited in minutes. But, in order to update your computer from a fresh installation of Windows XP, you must be connected to the Internet, and updating takes at least 20 minutes (on DSL, to download SP3) and another 15 minutes to install. Is my buddy telling the truth or is he pulling my leg? Are there offline updates? How safe is it really?

  1. This is a symptom of a registry problem. You probably need to clean your registry from errors and invalid entries. You can find information and reviews on registry cleaners at the link below.

  2. Yes , you can download it faster . But you can not install the SP3 that fast !!!
