Have you heard of Tila Tequilla? Yeah, attempt number 1 & 2 = failed, how about that one season on the Bachelor, where he didn't pick ANY girl.

That's all I can think of for now, but you may as well throw in to your debate "Couples on television feel the pressure to pick one of the given contestants, whether or not the choices really suite the person's character or not, because that is the show that they had signed a contract for."

I know what your asking, Steptoe and son in the comedy show they acted like it was like they could just about stand each other but were stuck together because the characters were doomed, in reality Wilfred Brambell and Harry H Corbett absolutely detested each other on and off set.  In till death do us part warren mitchell and tony booth hated each other, in the comedy they didn't get on as part of the show but off set they hated each other in reality.  In On her majesty's secret service Diana Rigg couldn't stand being even next to George lazenby so much so during her dying kiss scene with George Lazenby as 007 she had Garlic Squid for lunch.  I;m sure theres more but these are just examples from the top of my head.

Marilyn Monroe and Arthur Miller (though I think maybe he only produced)

Brad Pitt and Anjellina Jolie - they prob are good on and off.

Though I think Richard & Judy are good on and off reel couples.  Can't really think of many!

Vince and Jen..........They were a "reel" couple in "The Break-Up"  and they were a "real" couple in real life for a while.
