Reeling Boston Red Sox edge Minnesota Twins 6-5 – MLB Update
Struggling Boston Red Sox edged Minnesota Twins 6-5 at the Target Field in Minneapolis, Minnesota on Monday, April 23 in the opening game of their three match series of the 2012 Major League Baseball regular season.
Daniel Bard will be very pleased to win the game after struggling to the mound. Cody Ross hit two home runs to help the Red Sox clinch a thrilling win. Tying the game with a two run shot in the seventh inning, the striker played a key role in deciding the
outcome of the clash.
"It's been a tough go," Ross stated in a post game interview. "Everybody knows how tough it's been on us, but nobody feels sorry for us. We're going to keep having to go out there and grind it out."
"It gives them some confidence," Ross further added. "We have some guys that are really good out there, and we believe in them as a team."
The Twins had advantage over their opponents early on after they took a reasonable 5-3 lead in the fifth but the Red Sox continued to fight right till the end of the game to secure a much needed victory.

"Same deal. You're just trying to get out. You just have a little less time to warm up. That's it," he said.
Both teams have struggled to give consistent results since the start of 2012 season. Red Sox’s win over the Twins was only their fifth of the season and it will be interesting to see if they can perform in a similar fashion in their next two games to improve
their win-loss record.
The Twins have also struggled to make the most of available opportunities this season. With just five wins and 12 losses, they will have to do some serious hard work to win back their fans’ faith.
Getting off to a strong start, the Red Sox will be feeling very optimistic about the end result of the series. With momentum on their side, they are definitely the favourites to win the three game match-up now.
