Question:

Reference sources for Al Gore's Documentary?

I saw An Inconvenient Truth and it contained a lot of rhetoric. Does anyone have good links to papers, articles that corroborate or counter Gore's stance on Global Warming?

Please don't post any political commentary, this is a scientific question.

  1. Short summary of the verified and peer reviewed data, with references to the literature:

Lots more graphs of peer reviewed data, with references:

The best summary of the peer reviewed data:

    Good websites:

    http://www.realclimate.org

    "climate science from climate scientists"

Note that the skeptics have given you arguments (many political), not peer reviewed data.  That how it goes:

"I wasn’t convinced by a person or any interest group—it was the data that got me. I was utterly convinced of this connection between the burning of fossil fuels and climate change. And I was convinced that if we didn’t do something about this, we would be in deep trouble.”

  3. These should give you all the information you need:

  4. There are any number of sources available on the internet that Al Gore also invented.

Some have been listed by others but here are some:

  5. There really are no substantive scientific papers being published that counter Gore's stance on global warming. There are of course a few anti-global warming propaganda pieces being published, the vast majority of which is published in the non-scientific press. I cannot say for sure why but I suspect that very little anti-global warming "science" can pass peer review.

The official movie site has a page that includes scientific papers Gore used to support his arguments (first link)

The second link is to Real Climate, one of the best sites that discusses pros and cons of global warming science. It is a blog run by actual climate scientists. In this site you can find links to scientific papers both pro and con and critical analysis of both. They take an entirely objective stance and simply consider the data. The site may have the appearance of a pro global warming stance, but that is simply a reflection of the science, which happens to overwhelmingly indicate that global warming is real. Don't bother looking unless you are actually interested in the science of global warming.
