Question:

Refinishing in the rain?

I decided to buy a "barewood" cabinet to hold my aquarium. I was using a stain/polyurethane combo product to refinish it on my screened in patio until >>>>BOOM<<<< a giant tropical storm has taken over Tampa Bay for the last few days.

I have pulled the piece inside (it has 2 dried coats already) to prevent warping, but I can see some brush marks that I couldn't see before. The more i look the more critical I get!

Is there a way to stain/paint over or a sanding technique to reduce their appearance? I do not want to have to start over, but I would love any other advice!!

  1. You could use 0000 steal wool to scuff the offending areas and lightly hitting the rest, If your color is fine just finish with one final coat of clear.
