Reflection anyone? ?

I thought we could take some time to reflect our time for those that have been here for a while. Do you feel as though you've learned alot from the time you first joined up? Made some new friends? Overall enjoyed helping others out?

I just went through some of my old questions and laughed at how stupid and hypocritical I sounded back then but I was honestly confused. I know in my profile I said I hated people confusing themselves over labels but I don't blame people now because as I said, I was like that back then. I've learned so much about myself (sexuality wise) in a short period of time here than I ever could in real life. I had no one to talk to about this kinda stuff. So I'm grateful for coming across this site.

LGBT is and always will be my Y!A home away from home. lol and all you guys are so helpful and friendly! No wonder why many non LGBT like to ask their questions here.

Thank-you for everyone that has taken the time to answer my questions too! Love you guys!

**HUGS all round!!** (even for you trolls for making it so amusing for us.lol)

Bahaha.. sorry for the long speech!

Like to share your experience here? Muchly appreciated if you did :P

Much Love

xoxo

p.s I've got a new profile if ya'll wanna check it out :P

  1. Good question.

YA has been a strange experience to be honest.

I've encountered lots of great people, and made some great online friends (there's one couple places above me!)

I think I've also encountered some complete chunts.  It really does show the good and bad in people.  I've also discovered how much spare time I have to give to others (by answering questions) but also how some people really have too much time on their hands to annoy other people (trolls)

I've also learned that people spend far too much time on the internet when they should be out meeting new people.

As far as knowledge goes, I've discovered alot more about "Trans" people, which I've very grateful for.

  2. I have learned SO much.

    Especially about LGBT.

I have learned not to judge, but to love.

No matter someone's sexuality, everyone is awesome.

    Except for those trolls ;P.

But overall I'm glad I did join.

Because this section helped me come out of the closet, and I couldn't have done it withouth all these amazing people.

  3. I have been here for 3 years technically, after the first year I made a new account cause I was sick of being cloned and pestered by trolls...but I don't care any more.  I know that I have made some friends here...some people that I will keep in contact with forever.  I have learned a lot, mostly how to be more patient with ignorance, and I think I have taught a few people some things as well.  This forum is like another group of friends or another family and I am glad that I first came here, glad that I decided to stay in spite of all the harassment I used to get and all of the ignorance that is still here at times....Namaste' to you all : )

  4. I enjoy offering help and advice here. It's also fun to see how people's minds work. Answering questions on here helped me see that I want to be a rape crisis counselor and that I want to continue my education so I can become a psychologist or psychotherapist. As for this being a place where you can express yourself in ways you couldn't otherwise, I have to agree. It's easier to be yourself when you're at the computer and nobody knows you or literally can see your pain. I've seen lots of questions as well as answers where people have revealed a lot about themselves and what they're going through and/or have been through. This is an amazing forum. :o)

  5. I'm new here.. and to a lot of things. I'm very happy I found this place. With the exception of the trolls, this group is awesome.

  6. Oh man, I have learnied so much. Lol i hate to admit it, but I was one of the ones who asked the..."Am I g*y" question. But Since I have joined I feel so much better about myself, Im more accepting, I know a lot more, and I have made tons of freinds. :)

And to lifes a beach, 35 is so not old haha

  7. I just know I've been able to feel that much more comfortable in my own skin, with my sexuality that is.  I love feeling like a part of a little community on Y/A, even with the trolls.  I hope I've made some friends and I think & hope I've helped some people out!  Love you guys! XOXOXO (and I'm so happy because I finally got my TC badge back yay)

  8. I stumbled across Y!A while researching a question for a not-so-tech-savvy friend. In so doing, I happened to catch an LGBT question on the home page and decided to check it out. That was not quite 3 months ago. In this short span I have developed several new friendships and made many acquaintances.

More important, I know I have learned a lot, especially from the younger contributors, and I think I have been able to offer some sound advice through my life's experiences. Unlike other sections of Y!A, LGBT is balanced with serious issues and fun, and it is simply a great "place" to hang out.

So, since you started the ball rolling, let me take this time to thank everyone who has made me feel welcome ... Even those who make me feel like 35 is freakishly old! lol

    Hugz to all ...

  9. well ive learned a little from time to time, but ive enjoyed helping others if i have. i like the fact that i can make people smile and stuff. being "popular" here was not really a goal for me but a great plus lol as well as a few minuses *cough* troll *cough* clones *cough* lol. ive met really great people who are helpful and funny.i love each and every single person here lol. everyone is great in their own little special way. over all my experience here has been awesomastic to say the least lol.

hugs and muahs to you and everyone as well.
