Refresher for my horse...?

Hehehehe...I'm so happy...I got my horse back from the trainer!

lol...he had more juice than I could handle...man can he buck...that is what the trainer said too. He thought I was exaggerating when I first described how he bucks...since I am a girl...when he got on him and Hambone cut loose...he said that I described how he bucks right on the nail....lol.

Anyways, he has all his kinks worked out and is my nice, laid back boy again =)

Oh and so that this is legit...

What is the funniest thing that your horse has done to you and that you have done to your horse?

Mine...Hamilton came up behind me one time while I was cleaning out their 700 gallon water tank and head butted me into it...stinker looked like he was laughing at me too. The worse part about it though was that it was negative temperatures outside that day and that was without the windchill! That was when I lived in South Dakota. And even with tank heaters we still had to break some ice off the top of that tank.

  1. this really isnt about me but my friend and i were practicing barrels and she decided to lope and i told her that i was done and since i had a rodeo the next day i was goin just work on techniuque she said yeah but i jst want to lope once to see what hes goin do so she loped it and fell off around the second barrel lol...lol....thats not all her horse finished the pattern at a slow lope and then came back to the second barrel and looked like what are you doin down there???? it was so funny we laughed the whole time we were walkin are horses back home from the pin

  2. I had this horse that would knock me to the dirt and I swear he laughed at me ....My husband and I was putting a lean to in the field and it was hot outside so we would rotate and take breaks and sit in those plastic lawn chairs. Buster would sneak up while my husband was hammering away at nails and grab my chair leg and pull then shake his head up and down like he was laughing at me sitting in the dirt.

He was a curious horse. He had no problems going into this lean to when my husband was working on it. One time my husband was measuring a board and cutting it climbed the ladder and put it in place and reached for the hammer....he couldn't find it. He was looking everywhere and just cussin a blue streak when he looked up and not 5 feet away Buster had it in his mouth walking toward him with it. That sneaky lil sh** had stolen it and knew it.

  3. Md, I know that look.  I get the look of surprise & the excuse me, what do you think you are doing? look when I clean my gelding's sheath.  He slowly turns his head to look back at me, I think if he could he would raise am eyebrow.  When I look at him & say, "What?"  That usually gets me a toss of the head & a snort.  I love it when you get to the point with your horses that they show their personalities like that.  My husband's gelding can pin his ears so flat to his head they disappear, but if you look at him & tell if he keeps doing that his ears will stay way (something my husband started with him) those ears pop right up & he shakes his head back & forth, like no they won't....

Glad you got your Hambone back home.  Have fun with him.  We had a gelding once King bred & just a bit on the loco side, but he would do ANYTHING you asked of him & do it all day long without slowing down, but I swear to you that he was a bucking horse in his previous life.  Because when something set him off, that nose would drop to the ground & those back feet were straight in the air.  IF & I stress IF you managed to stay on after the initial explosion, he would quit.  If you came off, which was the norm, he would stand there & look at you wondering I suppose what are doing on the ground while you lay there gasping for air & cussing him with what air you did manage to suck in.  Awesome horse though.  LOL!!!

    *EDIT*

BB, that was hilarious!!!!  I'm glad I was NOT drinking anything while I read it or my screen would be a mess.

    **EDIT**

I have GOT to go visit BB with a video camera!!!

Is America's Funniest Home Videos still around?  I see winning the $100,000.00 grand prize a cinch!!!!!  LOL!!!

  4. okay with my pony - who i have had three trainers in for and none have been able to cure my little mare of bucking and all advise that I get rid of her but (fingers crossed) ive got used to her bucks and rears.  The funniest things she has ever done was

    1. once I was doing dressage on her and was trying to get her to shoulder-in but she had forgotton what that was so slowed to a halt and began to wave her front leg in the air and just stood there doing that grunting.

    2. The second was when she was in her stable and had been kicking the door so i shut the top half of her stable door but she has a little grated window quite high up that looks out and that has a small 3inch by 3inch hole in the grate and so she put her head right up and just glared at us through teh hole so all you could see was her eye

    3.  The third wasnt so funny for my poor grandad who wanted to watch me bring my horses in from the field by just opening their stable doors and the gate to their field and tehy just canter into the right one.  Well my grandad was standing by the muckheap and all my others went straight to their stables as normal but my mare ran past her stable to where my grandad was and ran into him, pushing him into the muck heap and then looked at him and went back to her stable, I shouldnt laugh but it was funny :)

  5. Gee...my horses must be boring...I can't think of anything right now...

Now...what I've done to myself...I got plenty of those.

Right off the top of my head, I stopped at the stables in a long sundress...didn't plan on riding.  I had my boots and spurs in the truck.  So I put those on and go get my horse and just fiddle around with her.  Just hand grazing in the yard and visiting with other folks that were there.

Well, I can't remember exactly WHY I did it...or maybe I  blocked it out...I kicked out my foot for some reason.  Like kicking at a dog...anyways...

Did you know that when you kick out, your extended foot will hit the bottom of your dress, and you will flip on your back...just like Charlie Brown and the football thing??  You do.  The back of the dress snugged up tight to the back of the leg planted on the ground....and the front of the dress snugged up to the foot that was kicking.  Kicked my own foot out from under me.  Glad I was wearing underwear....

My "friends" could hardly ask me if I was okay...due to lack of oxygen from laughing so hard at me.

'Bout never lived that one down....*sigh*

And yes...the horse was looking at me like "What the heck?" and I KNOW she was laughing....

glad you got your horse back to being a nice ride...

**EDIT...So glad I could entertain ya'll with my 'misfortune'...Geez that was humiliating!!!

BTW...I still go see my horses in sundresses.  Now the 'fashion statement' is to hike it up to my thighs...and tie it together in the middle between my legs.  Don't care if I look like a total moron...ain't falling down like that again...

  6. well it wasn't my horse but once i was jumping on this massive percheron X elephant it seemed and we came to the water jump and i don't know what happened, but somehow i was completely dislodged from the saddle (c**p cross country rider at your service) and landed on his neck, i still had the rains, and he just kept going, i still don't know how it happened and can't describe  the immense fear of being squashed to death by Rambo horse .....but here i was sitting on his neck until the coffin jump where i just pulled him up repositioned and kept going.....sitting on his neck, felt like sitting on a normal horse bareback...gawd he was big, 18.1 i think.

  7. After ridding, I was washing my horse down, and I put the hose under her muzzle and she tried to drink the water. It was so funny watching her try to suck up the water, and lap at it. I ended up soaking wet from the spraying water, but it was worth it. ^_^
