Hello-I don't see any model number anywhere on the unit, it has no ice maker and the freezer is on top. About a week ago it started buzzing every 4 or 5 minutes and it lasts about ten seconds. A day later, I found it running but completely warm. I unplugged it and called maintenance. The maintenance guy said he couldn't do anything because when he plugged it in, it worked again. A couple days later it started buzzing again and then stopped working again. I unplugged it for a couple hours and plugged it back in and it worked. Another couple days and it's now buzzing again and appears to have died again. My maintenance guy says there's NOTHING he can do if he isn't here to see it in the "dead" condition. From the research I've done, it seems that every component can be tested for working properly. Maybe I'm wrong. From what I've read, it's probably the start relay. It sure sounds like a relay that's trying over and over to turn on but it's failing. The fact that it comes back after being unplugged indicates that the compressor is overheating. Am I close? Also, is this inefficiency running up my electric bill while I wait and wait for the maintenance guy to figure the problem out? Any reason this problem should take a week to figure out? Any help you can offer is greatly appreciated. THANK YOUbuzzing noise every 3 or 4 minutes for about 10 seconds, then a click.
