A couple of weeks ago, I bought Allstate insurance and so far I am displeased with their service. The registration process is a pain. Since I work everyday, 10 hours a day, I don't have time to talk too an agent. I'm curious to know if I would be able to get a refund on the premium that I paid. Does anyone know of a certain amount of days that I have to cancel the policy in order to get a refund. Allstate could make things easier.

  1. I am an agent and for my customers i will go to them if needed dont go with a non standard company esp. direct your asking for trouble if you need them progressive is a easy company to deal with and they are a somewhat ok company but really you should find a local agent so if you do have a loss they will take care of you email me and ill help you

  2. I am not sure if it is different in every state but if you cancel your auto insurance within the first 30 days of the policy you have to provide evidence of new insurance.  You will be refunded any unearned premium once your policy has been cancelled.  Did you get your policy at an Allstate office or over the phone?  1-800-Allstate is open 24/7 so I am not sure how you do not have time to speak with someone.  If you don't have 10 minutes to speak with an agent to get quality insurance from a reputable company you should buy online with Direct General or Progressive.  Those two non-standard companies will allow you to buy the coverage over the interenet but still may require you sign and return certain documents.
