  1. Many states with offender registries also enacted separate offenses for refusing to stay current with those registries.  The actual sanction may vary depending on the circumstances under which he didn't sign, and the severeity index under which he'd been assigned.

  2. He has to sign the register, and he has already got a conviction in this country for down loading child prono on his pc

  3. They may be arrested, because that's one of the conditions when being released.

  4. He will have to register within 3 days, even though he did it abroad the Sexual offences act 2003 require him to do so.

He will be on our register dependant on how long he was sentenced for in Vietnam, if it was over 30 months then he will be on it for life.

If it was less than that but more than 6 months then he will be on it for 10 years.

If he fails to sign or breaches the order eg moves house and doesn't tell the coppers then he will go to the big house

  5. in Missouri you're considered noncompliant and have like 30 days to fix it or they can arrest you

  6.    Not registering is a separate crime, felony, and punishable in most states.

  7. Failure to complete your requirements a s*x offender is a felony in New York State.  Its not a choice to be included.  You are put on the registry as part of your sentencing and are required to comply.  If one has 'served their time' it does not matter.  Failure to register is a whole new offense punishable by up to a year in jail.  Pedophiles historically have a more difficult time then most in jail.

  8. You get locked up, no messing. You have 3 days to sign.

  9. If it is a Court Order Imprisonment for contempt. In the case of Gary Glitter there is as far as I know  there is no Order of the Court  so for the moment he is legally correct. Unless there is a Statutory Instrument (which can be challenged) or an Act of Parliament which can not be for all the huffing and puffing I do not think he can be forced to sign. I hope I am wrong.

  10. what happens is the defendant, ie Gadd appears in court and served the documentation to take to the police station.  At Court he is told how long he must remain on the register for.  He then has 3 days to take the papers to the station.  The court faxes the documwntation to the police so they know to expect him.

If he doesnt attend then he will be arrested for breaching the requirements of the Order and could end up back in prison as a penalty.

  11. A difficult one especially as the crime was committed in another country and he has served his time. I think they would have to take him before a UK Court in order to get him to register.

  12. WELL EITHER THE COPS MAY COME TO THE PERSON AND MAKE THEM SIGN IT.... OR IF THEY FOUND OUT THE PERSON DIDNT SIGN IT SOMEHOW IM SURE THEY COULD GET IN TROUBLE... BUT IF ITS A CONVICTED PAEDOPHILE IM SURE THEY ALREADY ADDED HIS NAME ON THE LIST....

  13. Well, in California failure to register is, in itself, a crime.  California Penal Code 290 requires registration whenever a person moves to a new town, changes residence and once a month regularly for life.  I've handled some of these cases in the past.  The typical treatment is the first time you fail to register, it's a misdemeanor.  After that, it's a felony with potential prison.

It's pretty automatic really.  They release you on parole, you are expected to register.  You don't register, parole violation/warrant.  You get off parole, fail to register, warrant.  All they have to do is check a database.  Even if you are homeless, you are required to register.  This is included with the standard Megan's Law website and the severe living restrictions all sexual offenders must deal with.

  14. I don't think he actually has to sign it. He has been convicted so his name will be rightly added to it.

He will be made aware of his obligations of being on the register.

If he fails to abide by them I would hope he would be sent to prison.

  15. I believe the creeps solicitors are arguing that point now, but in the case of Gadd, there's probably no need for him to sign the register as no doubt, members of the press will be watching every move he makes till the day he dies.
