Reg KG admission for my kid in Chennai?

This is regarding KG admission for my kid.

I stay in Kodambakkam. So we planned to put her in PSBB, K.K. Nagar branch.

But now I get lot of inputs to put her in SBOA/ DAV Girls, Gopalapuram.

I was hesitating for both these schools because this is a bit far of from my residence. With the traffic in Chennai, I felt my kid will have to spend long time in commuting.

Am I taking a correct decision?

Should I change my residence and try to place her in SBOA/ DAV?

Please give me some ideas.

Dear Ms. Shoba,

Your kid should about 3 years of age. At this tender age they hardly understand the traffic, routes, vehicle number, class teachers name, and even their school,s name. Hence it is not suitable to send them to a far away schools.

The school may provide the transportation by collecting some extra amount, still you cant take risk with the driver of the vehicle. Because of this you will be under constant pressure, until your kid returns back to house.

At KG level, the coaching will be same in any Institution. Your kid is going to spend not more than 4 hours there. So my honest advice to you is.:- 1. If you are engaged in House keeping, then teach your kid at home. Mother is the best and the first Teacher. or 2. Admit your kid to a school, which is near to your place and preferably, within a walkable distance, so that you can leave the kid and bring back safely. Please do not take risks, by exposing your Child to heavy traffic and City pollution.
