Regal Acclaim set to win Bet At BetVictor.com Apprentice Handicap
Regal Acclaim is all set to benefit from the soft ground in the £1,704 Bet At BetVictor.com Apprentice Handicap at Ayr in England on Monday, July 9, 2012.
Speed will play a crucial role in the 7 furlong 50 yard event, which is scheduled to start at 17:00 GMT. Out of eight runners, the best chances of victory in these conditions appear to be with Regal Acclaim, who has been sent at 7 to 4.
The three-year-old gelding is likely to dominate proceedings today, as he has done well on the soft ground in the past as well. Most of his opponents are struggling for form at the moment, which will also work in his favour that, will force the punters to bet on him.
Tim Easterby’s trainee debuted in 2011 and, his performance in the first few races was below par. He was given a decent starting price in his first ever outing but, could only manage the eighth spot out of 10 runners.
Following his failure in the first race, the young runner continued to struggle in a couple of more races, which would have left his fans disappointed. However, he finally turned things around, when he got a chance to race in favoured conditions.
After three unimpressive outings, Acclamation’s son showed everyone what he was capable of, winning his first ever race by a narrow margin of half-length. The track was soft back then and, he looked absolutely at home.
In his very next race, Regal Acclaim was rated as the favourite to win, but he disappointed the bookies this time around, finishing as a runner-up. The result was still not bad and, he carried on with a similar momentum to win his next race by a neck's margin.
The Irish runner is in great shape right now, as he has secured a couple of runner-up positions in his previous two events. He has participated in a total of nine races, winning a couple of them.
Regal Acclaim will be given company by promising jockey, Adam Carter, who is in decent form at the moment.
