Regal Rat Food?!?

I recently purchased some of this from the petstore, and it stunk horribly! I mean, enough to make a person throw up. It smelled very bad, but looked fine. Any idea what was wrong with it? We had to throw it out, it was starting to stink up the whole house. o_o;

It could have been out of date or the seal could have been broken...It could have been anything. Lots of rat food has chicken in, so if the chicken was off before they put it in the main mix, that could cause a smell.

But you should have really returned it to get a refund.

Food can go rancid during transport with change in temperature. Going from hot to cold, or vice versa, can cause condensation inside the bag. You can call the company about it, but they'll probably ask for hte lot # from the bag.
