Regarding Hauppage TV Tuner?

I got Hauppage TV Tuner offer with HP notebook for Rs1000. Now, is that tuner enough to get TV Channels in my laptop ? Do we need to seperate cable connection or subscription of channels to view Channels? Is that worth enough?

It should have come with the proper software and an external antenna.  You can use it to receive Over The Air broadcasts.  You can also hook it to cable just like any other TV receiver.
