Is it ok to use permanent markers to label CD's and DVD's?

yes but make sure it dries before putting back in because it will spin and then drip outwards

I guess so. The store where I bought my laptop made backup disks for me and labeled them with permanent markers. I've also made Cd's and labeled them with them and they seem ok.
