Regarding biotechnology/molecular Biology?

Question

I like to study in the field of genetics\molecular biology and genetic modification and the science of it. Which one would fit me better?

1)Biotechnology

2)Molecular biology

Molecular biology would be the best, biotechnology really is about understanding how to use the techniques of biology. Molecular biology would give you that understanding as well as the ability and more importantly the insight to use said techniques to answer important biological questions. There is a big difference.

either would be fine.....i'm thinking molecular bio would be a more "pure" traditional science and you'd be a scientist or a professor, more governmental type jobs.....biotechnology would be slightly more corporate oriented
