  1. An application is a program that interacts with a human being fairly directly. For example, the driver for your video card is a program (or probably a set of programs) but it is not an application. Your operating system is a program, but it is not an application. Your browser is an application.

Essentially, if it has a user interface, it's an application. Note that even adminstrative tools are considered applications if they have a user interface. For example, a disk defragmenter's control panel is an application.

  2. I consider both the same thing.

    Ex:

I am downloading the iTunes Application

I am downloading the iTunes Program

  3. the set of program called application

you can make a application by using some prorgram, but reverse can't possible

program is the part of an application

  4. Every application is a program but NOT the other way around . As there are system and utility programs in addition to the application programs . Application programs are designed to interact with a front end user .

  5. Technically, a program is Microsoft's term, and an application is Apple's term. They're basically the same thing except different companies call them different things.
