Question:

Regarding indoor plants in my bedroom for increased oxygen levels...?

I am quite new to buying and maintaining plants. I just have problems choosing the right ones. I really like Crotons for their various colors that they add to my room. I love the fact that I sleep in an oxygen-rich environment.

However, some have died off and, as a result, I'll be shopping for more soon. Can someone recommend good indoor plants that give off lots of oxygen?

I doubt that there is a thing as having too many plants in my room, but if there is, can someone please elaborate on the possible negative effects?

  1. yer grown plants in yer bedroom? heh! i know what yer up to

  2. These plants produce the most amount of oxygen for their size.  English ivy, Chinese evergreen, bamboo palm, snake plant (mother-in-law’s tongue), and several types of dracaena, including marginata, corn plant, and Janet Craig.

As this article explains you can't have too many plants in your home. They absorb the bad chemicals in your house and clean the air.

  3. i've read that broad leaf plants are the best for oxygen, and cleaning the air.

one thing to remember is that you need to keep the soil mold free, that would be the only drawback with having many plants.

  4. keep in mind that no matter how much oxygen they give off during the day they create almost the same amount of carbon dioxide at night and the inside light is not bright enough for the plants to "photosynthesis" enough to be an oxygen producing machine you want.  And if they would be able to create the amount of pure oxygen you want, the room would have to be airtight to see a benefit

  5. Try finding a Warneckei Lemon Lime plant! Its many just called a lemon lime plant because who can pronoun that name lol! Any ways they require little maintainence and they are very pretty. You only have to water them once a week and spray them with a water bottle every couple of day if u use air conditioning in a tight space. It drys them out and the mist from the bottle solves that.
