Regarding posting LETTERS.......HOW?

I would like to know how much Rs. stamp is required to post a letter

a) within Maharashtra

b) outside Maharashtra

c) outside India

I would also like to know which color postbox is used to post letters nationally..is it red or green

Hi,

It depends upon the weight of the letter. Normally it starts with Rs.5/- for all over India may be within state or outside state.

For outside India the minimum was Rs.15/-.

Red Post box is for national.

within India rs 5/- outside India depends on the country u sre sending letter to . u have to take the trouble checking with Post Office. All letters meant for the same city ( like u sending a letter from mumbai to some one in Mubai ) use the green, for all the rest Red one

Irrespective of location or distance with in India, from Kashmir to Kanyakumari ( including to your neighbour ), for first 20 gms is Rs.5.00 ( for covers ), and Rs.15.00 for other Countries, in ordinary post.

The standard post box color in India is " British Post Office Red ", Green for Metros ( with in India ) as displayed on post box.
