Yes it's the only state that has them, since New York has "the" standard in the nation.

Basically, if you go to Nebraska and complete your earth science class and tell someone out of the state your grade, no one knows what you were taught.

But if you tell someone you got a 90 on your earth science regents then they know exactly what you were taught...since it is THE standard.
