Reggie Williams leads Golden State Warriors to 110-86 win over the Portland Trail Blazers
The Golden State Warriors closed their 2010-11 season with an impressive 110-86 victory over the playoff-bound Portland Trail Blazers at the ORACLE Arena on Wednesday night.
Reggie Williams, who was starting for the injured Monta Ellis, racked up a game-high 28 points and pulled down seven rebounds and five assists in the victory. Williams got his shooting touch back and registered only his second 20-point game since late December. He went 12-for-18 from the field and 4-for-8 from deep.
Forward Dorell Wright finished with 20 points, six assists, five rebounds and four steals for the victors. In addition to that, Wright closed the season with 1,344 points; 10 more than he managed in his previous six seasons combined.
Wright was very excited about the achievement and was thankful to his team-mates for their contribution in his success. He said, "It's been great. All the records are pretty sweet but you know my team-mates, if it wasn't for those guys, I wouldn't be in the position I'm in now."
Guard Stephen Curry had an impressive night with 18 points and nine rebounds for the Warriors, who have won just 36 games in the entire season. Forward-centre David Lee had 13 points, six rebounds and three steals, while Jeremy Lin came off the bench with 12 points, five assists and five rebounds for Golden State.
